Savvy by INgrid Law
Savvy is about a girl called Mibs (her real name is Mississippi, but she doesn’t like it when people call her that.) who is waiting for her savvy to come on her 13th birthday. You could a savvy is like a super power that takes all your effort to control. In Mibs family(on her mother’s side) when someone turns 13, they get their savvy. Mibs can’t wait until she gets her savvy. When her mother gets a phone call saying that Mibs and her sibling’s father was a victim in a terrible car crash. Her mom and oldest brother Rocket, who is the only one who can get the car started, drive up to the hospital to see her father.
Now Mibs and her older brother Fish and younger siblings Sampson and Gypsy are stuck under the care of the priest’s wife, Mrs. Rosemary(she’s not a spice!). Mrs. Rosemary decides to throw Mibs a big birthday party at the church, but in Mibs family being out in the public on a 13th birthday is a REALLY bad idea…
Mibs discovers her savvy and decided that she needs to see her father right away. Her brothers find out and comes with her among with Will & Bobby, Mrs. Rosemary’s son & daughter.
Their almost to the hospital when Mibs finds out that her savvy wasn’t what she though it was…
Puddlejumpers
Puddlejumpers is one of the Sakura medal books that I finally finished reading!
It’s about these brown, only about 11cm tall at max, blue eyed, webbed feet creatures that wear red shirts with yellow leggings and belts. They can jump though a puddle in Japan and end up in a puddle in American in about 5 seconds. They keep themselves secret from the humans and live in a kingdom built underground. The puddle jumpers’ only problems are the monsters that want to eat them, turn the earth in to a dry planet with no rain, human looking and can transform in to a most ugly looking creatures, Troggs.
The puddle jumpers can’t live without rain and need someone to help them before Mother Earth dies. They select a baby boy to become a rain maker to save them, the only problem is that the boy grows up not really knowing this until…
Well, you have to read this book to find out!!
Poems(because there’s nothing else to write about)
“The cold” It’s freezing outside and I’m going to turn into a popsicle! That’s not a poem but it’s true:(
In English class we have been studying about poems and writing our one. I wrote about sunlight:
Before I go, Come look at me!! I’m here and there and everywhere! See as I shine And make you glow, when I’m gone, the earth turns dark and scary. he is my enemy but also my friend, we fill the sky with night and light.
We had to write one about the worst student ever too, so I did mine with Julia:
As I walk into the classroom and make my way should the students behave, I pray On the top of his desk stood he kicking and screaming as he saw me I tell him “stop” he says not (I glare) as he fought As he stand I hit him I say “that was a lesson learned well” as the laughter goes dim.
Poems aren’t my favorite thing, but there was nothing else to write about. So there!!

How to write a blog when you don’t really want to…
So, we sit here in English class thinking what to blog about, yet cannot think of ANYTHING fun or exciting…What do you do???
Here are some ideas…
- Copy another blog (don’t do it)
- Just ignore the assessment or homework and say it was too boring.(don’t do this either)
- Tell the teacher you dumped coke on you keyboard.(your get in trouble for doing it so don’t)
- Write about nonsense stuff.(If it makes sense)
- Have your older brother/sister do the work and pay them (make sure to not say how much you will pay them before they start!!)
- C & V an old post and hope the teacher doesn’t notice it…(if you have a different teacher that day)
- Copy a paragraph from a book that isn’t popular.(If you read ALOT of books)
- Tell your friend that her/he’s blog is terrible and use it. (Of course the blog is REALLY good, but you don’t say that)
- Use the teacher’s blog because it is good!(wait…the teacher’s don’t have a blog! )
10. Go to google and search “random words”, then put all those random words and add conjunctions and say its how you express your confused mind… it works!(If you have tim )
11. Type up random words and hope it is good enough.(If you have time, again)
12. Hope that you will have a good blog and just start typing
13. Have a dream that you finished your blog and hope it will come true…
Are these good ideas?????
But don’t use them because you will get in trouble, plus I copy righted™℗®©℠ them…

Christmas☺
Christmas, a day with presents, family and Santa. Or does it have a very different meaning to you??
Christmas was originally a day to celebrate the birth of baby Jesus. For people who don’t know much about it here is the story this is the basic idea. Once upon a time there was a woman who was told by angles that she was going to have a child and she and her husband were very excited. They went to Bethlehem to have the child but when they got there, there were no more empty rooms in hotels to stay in. they were very puzzled when a kind family told them they could stay in their barn. She and her husband thanked them and stayed there. When the baby was born angles sang and told the people about the baby. People came from all over to give him presents and celebrate the berth of him.
I’m sure there are many different versions of the story, but this is what I typed in 20 min in English class out of the top of my head…
Now it is known all over the world and is celebrated by many cultures. It is one of my favorite days too! Cuz’ you get presents and a winter break form school!! (I already got 2 of my Christmas present, a new snowboard and REALLY cool boots)

Thanksgiving
Some people might think that thanksgiving is when you cook a lot of food and then eat it.No, it has much more meaning to it…
Thanksgiving was originally held on sometime between September 20 to November 11, 1921. It was the first feast held with the pilgrims and the Native Americans. The feast was held to celebrate the friendship between them and of the great harvest that year. In was held in the pilgrim village and lasted 3 days!
Today, people celebrate Thanksgiving on November 26 and eat foods like turkey, corn bread, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. Some families talk about what they are thankful.

whisper and shout
The name of the book is Whisper and Shout, edited by Patrice Vecchione and the genre is poetry.
I chose one of the poems in the book that was the most fascinating; and here it is:
Weather By: Anonymous
Whether the weather be fine
Or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold,
Or whether the weather be hot,
We’ll weather the weather,
Whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not.
This poem has not setting, time or place; but the poem weather is in present tense. The voice is 1st person, I believe. I like the way the author uses homophones, which are words that sound the same but have different meanings and are spelled differently and the way the author used rhyming words to make the poem fun and so it has a rhythm when you read it. I also like the fact that the author wrote opposite words at the end of the sentence.
Player Piano What Are Heavy

In these two poems I chose I found some differences and similarities.
The differences between these poems are that what are heavy has questions and answers, but player piano doesn’t.
The similarities are that these poems both have rhyming words at the end of the sentence.
The Life Shop
The Life Shop is a contemporary mystery written by Margaret McAllister.
The main character Lorna is in high school and is a good musician, she has a dream to go to a music college and become a pianist. She lives with a disabled little brother named Charlie that is the love of her life and her loving mother.
One day when she’s at her best friend Fern’s house Fern’s mother finds a new catalogue that’s called the Life Shop. It says that: “It offers a perfect world; it promises to fulfill your dreams and it makes it so easy for you to pay.”
But Lorna thinks there is something more to it than a shopping catalogue when she finds out that it’s trying to take over people’s lives.
She and Kieron (her best friend’s older brother) are the only ones left that are not taken over by the Life Shop. When Kieron goes to the Life Shop and works for it as a summer job, but he is spying on them secretly, Lorna gets extremely worried and takes Charlie to go to the Life Shop with her.
Charlie and Lorna stop the Life Shop from taking over every ones lives.
Cartoon Drawing Tips 2
Hullo, everyone!
Yes, this is another website that has tips for drawing cartoons for English projects.
This website has a lot of different things, such as step by step lessons, video lessons, Music and Games. I looked at one of the videos and it was nicely done, colorful and they show how to draw Yoda, a kitten, lions, goats and Anime people. One of the step by step lessons had how to draw a ninja. It had 11 steps and it makes people and me want to start draw. The music and games have nothing to do with this but they are fun so I will explain about it. The music is for young children such as “Can you see the love tonight”, “It’s a small world” and “Star wars”. The games are fun and entertaining.

Cartoon Drawing Tips
I looked up many websites about how to draw cartoons, on Google, for my English project. I thought this website was the best one because it was easily understood and had a lot of different kinds of tips.
First the website had tips and ideas, drawing supplies and different types of drawing books that have step by step drawing in it so if the person that wanted to draw would have more information for drawing cartoons. The second section had 17 different whys to draw cartoons. Such as, animals, flowers, fantasy and dragons etc. The third part had 5 sections about other things such as, cool stuff, your tips and your drawings.
The website had different categories of tips to explain how to draw the cartoons better and how to help your imagine flow. I think that the website would help me draw cartoons because I’m not much of an artist…
